Carcassonne Carcassonne at the end of March
Posted: Sat February 9, 2008 04:41 PM UTC
We have planned a 4-day stay in Carcassonne at the end of March (Easter holiday), and we plan to visit the main attractions. In addition to the La Cité, we had hoped to do walks around the area.

Could anyone recommend good routes for long/short walks? Also, will the weather be OK and pleasant enough?

THANKS!

You may want to peruse Carcassonne's official tourist website for itineraries on foot:

The weather here may be OK in March but I should not characterize it as pleasant until May.

It will be ok weather-wise, but do pack appropriately. It certainly won't be hot, and there may well be rain. Look at

for the 7-day forecast just before you come.

There are lots of potential walks in both parts of Carcassonne (along the river, for example, or along the canal). You could also easily visit other places (such as Narbonne) by train. My Carcassonne pages have info which may be useful.

Enjoy your visit: it's a fascinating place to explore.
