is it possible to get the bus to Split from Dubrovnik airport or do you have to go to the bus station, if so how long does it take to get to the bus station from the airport and what or the options in transport to do this?

If I recall correctly, the Dbv airport/Croatia airlines bus goes to old town and not to the bus station, then you have to catch a bus to the bus station. (All stops near Pile gate.)

All together, both bus rides should take less than an hour (about 30 mins airport to old town, less for old town to bus station).

bus schedule Dbv to Split:

You will definitely need to take two buses - one from the airport to the bus station in Dubrovnik and then one from Dubrovnik to Split. The bus takes about 45 minutes to get from the airport to the bus station, stopping outside the walls of the old city at the Pile Gate en route. The bus station is another 10 minutes or so further on, in the port area, Gruz. Starting at 5am the buses run right through the day to 10pm, the journey takes about 4 hours.
