| Bologna | via San Donato Posted: Thu February 7, 2008 07:01 PM UTC
Can anyone tell me which buses run along via San Donato. I am would like to travel from Quatro inferiore to via Zamboni or even the Bologna city center? I think #93 and #301 but I am not sure.
Many thanks |

First, note that the English website for Bologna's transit system is http://www.atc.bo.it/english/index.asp .
Next note that "Quarto Inferiore" does not appear to be a stop...under that name. After looking at buses to/from Granarolo (which is just beyond Quarto Inferiore), sure enough, the 93 showed up with a number of other lines. In examining the stops carefully and plotting them against a map, it seems to me that your stop may be "Z.I. Quarto Badini", where "Z.I." stands for "Zona Inferiore" or something like that (ha, it could be "Zona Industrial"). Well, it's in the right place ;-) For you to have a look, do the following...first, look at the interactive map. It's in English and a lot of fun (but I don't think your routes show up on it, however, but I could have missed it). Second, at the top of the home page (the URL above), click on "routes and timetables", then choose "sub & extraurban lines" from the pulldown list. This will switch you to an Italian page, but we can handle that. In the box to the right of "Inserisci il nome, parziale o per esteso, di un comune o una località:", enter "Granarolo" and click "Cerca" (Search). You will get the numbers of 9 lines, including your 93 and 301. If you click on each icon, you'll get the routes. Find Granarolo and San Donato on the routes - your Quarto Inferiore (possibly the Z.I. Quarto Badini) should be between these places. Compare this to the maps available at www.viamichelin.com and you should have a better feel for things. If you need translations, give me a holler... Bill

Both #93 and #301 are fine..
If I were you I would stop at "Stazione delle corriere" (Bologna bus terminal) and the with a walk, via zamboni is not far, less then 1 km. you could also stop at next bus stop, but some buses end their trip at Autostazione, the other busese go ahed, they usually stop at autostazione about 5 minutes and meanwhile....

I forgot the indications (for pedestrians)
from autostazione go out at back toward Via del Pallone (it's where the bus enter and exit from terminal, there is a pedestrians lane. 0 m Via del Pallone for 150 meters 150 m turn left -> Via Irnerio for 580 meters 730 m turn right -> Via Giovanni Battista De Rolandis for 130 meters 870 m turn left Via Zamboni You did not say where in via Zamboni, but it's not like USA, in Bologna the street are short.
