Ponta Delgada General tips, please!

I'll be off to Ponta Delgada in a couple of weeks for a one week holiday. So if anyone should feel like giving me some useful last minute tips as what to do there this time of year, what to pack etc I'd be very grateful. =D

Hi! I was there in August but it is almost the same now. In Azores every day of the year has the 4 seasons: spring in the morning (usualy some clouths and may be rain), sumer at midday (people even swim in winter), autum in the afternoon and winter at night. So: a bit of all kind of cloths. There are some VT members there: tell me if you want to meet them.

Azores is one of my favourite archipelago.
What to do?
1. Rent a car, because public transport are not so efficient and don't go everywhere.
2. Sao Miguel is worth one week:
- Go to Furnas, a little town in the middle of an old crater and have a swimm in the mineral pool of the Terra Nostra park: a delight
- Take road 5-2a to Lagoa do Fogo, park and climb down to the lake - a mysterious place
- Visit Nordeste a charming North Town
- From Furnas go to Ribeira Quente, a nice beach with volcanic warm waters
- Buy a hiking trails book and walk, walk, walk... (around Sete Cidades particularly).
- Have a drink in a cafe on the shore at Ponte Delgada.
- If you like eating: try the Hotel Talisman restaurant
- See the caldeiras at Caldeira Velha
- See the pinneapple plantations near Ponte Delgada-the only ones in Europe.

Enjoy, the island is quiet and people very welcoming.
