we are thinking of driving from Mendoza to Salta and Cafayate in mid Arpil. is route 40 a good road to drive and is it an easy drive? we have time to do it in leisurely manner.

no, ruta 40 is the adventure road, not a good road nor easy to drive, some parts of it aren't paved at all and there are few places to get help, at least in the south part of it
