Hello Frankie,
This question has cropped up before on Vt. If you are debating about going to meet a lady you are in contact with through an agency - the advice is usually Don't GO!. We hear lots of accounts of the problems that follow from such arrangements. So think very carefully and find out as much as you can before you even think about buying a plane ticket.

Hi!
Gorod Omsk (город Омск) do you find at Google Maps: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=32.6975,35.3069& Gorod (город) = town. The Russian alphabet: http://www.travelto.spb.ru/images/alphabet.gif Russian-English-Russian dictionary http://www.freelang.net/online/russian.php That do costs 1826.81 GBP by plane for Omsk from Belfast according to the page http://www.opodo.co.uk/ The website of Die Bahn (The German Railways): http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en Regards Jesper

If you have enough time and have never been to Russia before then it would be a nice idea to fly to Moscow and take a train to Omsk. I made a brief stop in Omsk for a day on my way to Vladivostok.
But if you don't speak any Russian at all then you probably better fly changing in Moscow (you may have to change airports) and let yourself be picked up at the other end.

From UK you also can fly to Bratislava (Slovakia) and take the "usual" way: CITY-STAR Slovakia-Russia train ticket Bratislava-Kiev-Moscow-Omsk round-trip is 174 Euro bought in Bratislava. Add Zvolen/Zilina->Moscow 21 Euro for sleeper or Kosice->Moscow 19 Euro and Moscow->Omsk 36 Euro each direction.
The Bratislava-Kiev-Moscow-Omsk round-trip will be: 21+21+36+36+174 = 288 Euro everything included. Who hates flying: so-called "Student Agency" operating busses between Praha and London. http://www.studentagency.cz/mainpage.php?switch=873 http://www.studentagency.cz/mainpage.php?switch=874 Contact in London: Green Line Coach Station: London Express (coach link) ltd. Unit 12 Colonnade Walk 123 Buckingham Palace Road London SW1W 9SH tel.: 0207 828 1001 079 6644 8649 077 1876 9178 078 1203 5744 078 1145 8088 Not sure how much are the airplane tickets. Interesting option: Hungarian MALEV could be a good bet because it will fly London-Budapest-Ekaterniburg, it's an EU airline of (sorry) better standards than, say, K7 and you will avoid the transfer in Moscow. I would look for MALEV consolidator in London.

Lufthansa also used to fly Frankfurt-Ekaterinburg for that matter.

True, Lufthansa. On the Internet Lufthansa tends to be cheaper than www.malev.hu but ask consolidators.

Hi!
Virtual Tourist wouldn't reproduce the Cyrillic script. Gorod Omsk do you find at Google Maps: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=32.6975,35.3069& Gorod = town. Regards Jesper

You can create any script in any language, make a screenshot, host it with imageshack.us and publish the URL. That is a bit inconvenient but works in VT.
