staying in pattaya in july and just wondering if a trip to chanthaburi for a couple of days is recommended , is it easy to get to from pattaya ?? are there nice beaches and reasonable accommodation ?? is it quiet / hectic ??

When I was last in Pattaya I noticed that all the travel agents offer trips from Pattaya to Koh Chang.It's a nice Island and beaches much better than Pattaya.

thanks you guys , templemonkey , checked your koh chang page and didn't find any ref to bars , nightlife , we are 2 guys travelling in july , should we bring girls with us ??? we just want to chill on a nice beach during the day , accomodation on the beach , and have a few beers at night in couple of bars , any recommendations would be most welcome

There are some girls bars on Koh Chang (TIT!) some in whitesands and then a few dotted along the way e.g. Lonely Beach.....
