we can't decide which would be the best method of travelling to Ao Nang Beach - from Phuket.
Are the ferries OK? & how much & how long, we are travelling beginning of August so perhaps the sea will be rough? Other options are - hire a car - we have driven in Thailand before so OK with the roads - but how much will they be & do they do remote drop offs as they do in UK/Europe etc? or just get a mini bus - from the forums I have read about 2000Bt seems to be the rate. Would appreciate any feedback - also any feedback about Ao Nang Beach Resort would be helpful. Thanks in advance |

I cannot answer the question about one way rentals, but I would recommend driving from Krabi to Phuket. The road is good and traffic is not mormally a problem and it is a scenic drive.

August - save your life, don't vomit on those rough seas by saving a few pennies - you'll be banged around like a used plastic bottle on the high seas.
Ground transportation - about 2000-2500 baht / way. Ao Nang Beach Resort - not bad. Drop me a note if you need more info / rates. Happy Krabi'ing!

I'm sure there are minivans or minibuses but I would think there are also regular government or private run VIP buses between Phuket and Krabi-town as well. Might want to do a google search
