| Brussels | Less than a day in Brussels! off to BoZ Posted: Sun February 3, 2008 10:38 AM UTC
hi there...I'm going to be spending less than a day in Brussels before heading to Bergen Op Zoom in Netherland. I booked a room at the Marriot (citycenter) and was wondering if it's close to public train station. I'll need that to go to Bergen Op Zoom the next day which is a Saturday. any information about the stations and the tickets will be helpful....appreciate your help guys.

Hi,
It really depends which station you need. Your hotel is between the 3 stations. The closest one is Central Station, up the hill to the East, it's a 5 minute walk. The Midi Station is about 2km from your hotel, but I wouldn't recommend going there, the area is quite bad. Gare du Nord is the furthest from your hotel, you'll need a cab to get there, should be around 10 Euro. Check where your train is departing from, and ask for directions from the hotel. Good luck!

you can easily travel from one station to the other and if you don't leave at an odd time in the night I wonder why to be afraid of the Midi.
The only thing you need to do is be careful for pickpockets that you will find in every big station or any place where lots of tourists (and money) is around. you can find time schedules on http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/index.php tag "international" and fill in departure Brussels Central (if that is where you want to leave) and destination Bergen op Zoom fill in prevered departure or arrival time and hit the search button it will provide you some suggestions of which you can see the details if you like I don't think they show prices for international trips but it won't cost you fortunes. At least Belgium is cheap for its public transport and certainly if you compare it with the Netherlands. Have a nice trip.
