Judetul Maramures Crossing to Solotvino
Posted: Sun February 3, 2008 01:35 AM UTC
Im sorry to ask this,
but I have to make sure because people are telling me different things?
Is the nearest crossing Solotvino or rakhiv?
What can I believe?

Anyway can I walk over the bridge from Sighet to Solotvino? or can I only cross by vehicle (car or bus etc)
Is it easy, does anyone know how long it takes?
Is there any Hotels in Solotvino?
Thank You!

Unfortunately, at this time there is no border crossing at all between Romania and Ukraine in Maramures county.
The bridge between Sighet and Solotvino has been closed last year and will remain closed until this spring (at best).
The nearest open border crossing is the one at Halmeu.

There is a very strong rumour they are about to open a bridge in the village of Remeti just for pedestrian traffic.Remeti is about twenty klm from Sighet on the road to Satu Mare.
