I have not heard of a ferry from Cadiz - I went from Algeciras.
Have a look at this web site that also gives the other main Spanish departures. http://www.cemar.it/dest/ferries_morocco.htm

Fromthe city of Tarifa in the province of Cadiz you can get a fast ferry to Tanger in around 35 minutes and from Algeciras you get normal ferries which get you to Tanger as well . You have 4 different companies operating from Algeciras. The 14 kilometer journey takes aprox. 90 minutes to cover.

You can definitely sail from Algeciras, but I've never heard of ferries going from Cadiz to Morocco. If there are some, the ride would take a very long time.

Your best bet is the 35 minutes catamaran from Tarifa. They go around five times per day.
