Manila Help plan my trip. arrive- Manila- Taal - Boracay- Manila-depart
Posted: Fri February 1, 2008 06:31 AM UTC
My buddy and I are two weeks from arriving in the philippines.

We arrive from China.

Day 1, 2 , 3 - Manila ( do I need more time in this city to explore)

Day 4 - Taal. Again, not sure if I should stay overnight. We want to climb the volcano and see the water bubbling. Do i want to go to taal or tagatay? are they the same place.

Day 6, 7, 8 , 9 & 10 - Boracay. Will I get bored on this island? should i shorten my stay there.

Day 10 - 11 - return to manila for one more night then depart the next morning on the 11th day.

thanks much!

Hi There,

1 day in Manila is all you need. If you are a real beach bum?? 5 days in Boracay is not enought. If you are an action adventure guy? go to Cebu Moalboal, Panagsama Beach. Check their website.

Two to three days in manila is fine. Nightlife in the city is great but cheap (Western standards) if you know where to go. For that period, you may include a day tour of Corregidor Island. I suggest you stay a night there.

Taal and Tagaytay are two different places. The first is a town in Batangas, jump off point for those who want to hike the volcano. Tagaytay is a city (about 2000 feet above sea level) around the ridge surrounding Taal Lake where the volcano is. You may opt to stay a night on Tagaytay after exploring the volcano. It's cool and windy there.

Boracay is never boring. One week is not enough. The first time I got there, I wanted to stay for good. :)

Overall I think your proposed schedule is just fine.

There are plenty of activities to keep you busy in Boracay, so you can do as much or as little as you like.
