Manila is the cherry blossom hotel a dump in a cracked-out neighborhood?
Posted: Fri February 1, 2008 06:23 AM UTC
I hope to book a hotel within two days. I'm leaning towards cheery blossom? per their website, it seems decent, but you never know. is it in a good area? safe, lots of shops around? restuarants etc? don't want to stay in a dump. If this hotel isn't good, could you recommend one. thanks/

how far is malate from ermita? i thought this hotel was in malate, but some say ermita?

Cherry Blossom is a good choice. It's just a stone throw away from the mammoth Robinsons Mall in Ermita. That's right, Cherry Blossom Hotel is in Ermita as well (Bocobo Street). Safe? Shopr? Restaurants? It's the place you're looking for.

Good location. Easy walk to restaurants, bars, travel agents, internet shops, casino etc. Robinson Mall so close you can get there in a minute or so. I have always called this area Ermita. A bar that is not too far from there is the "G" Point Pub on Padre Faura. Food is not too bad, daily food and drink specials, band at night.

For the past 2 years I have used the Citystate or Lotus Garden hotels on A. Mabini Street. Previously over the past 10 years I used the Soriente Hotel on A. Flores Street. There are other hotels in this area around the same price (cheaper ones too) that you can look over and make a switch to if you want.

Malate is very much near Ermita. Their negihboring districts. You can even walk to Malate from Ermita and vice versa.

Hey, you are not moving there permanently! Stay a night or two and if you don't like it or even if you do like it check out some of the other locations around there. There are worse hotels than the CB!

I have stayed at Cherry Blossom and 1632. I much prefer 1632 - only thing is that 1632 does not have the 2 beds side by side, but its clean and staff good. Also 5 minutes walk to Robinsons and 30 seconds walk to Zamboanga Seafood Restaurant.

my husband and i stayed there last year and we stayed on the ground floor 2 level suite. it was nice a place but my only complain was as soon as you go out to the shopping mall, the stench of the place outside the hotel was horrible.

good location if you want to shop till you drop at the robinson's.
