Are there stores in Ennis or Mewmarket on Fergus where I can purchase Liquor/Whiskey and wine by the bottle?

There are several in Ennis (see below). Can't find a listing for Newmarket-on-F, but you will also find whisky/wine/beer/spirits sold in supermarkets etc.
Shops which sell only bottles/ccans of alcohol are often called 'off-licences' in the UK and Ireland, btw (although they may call themselves something else......'wine merchants', for example). http://www.irelands-directory.com/Clare/Ennis/Shop
