Greetings to all! I will be traveling to Brazil some time in June of 2008. I will be building a Heat Energy Unit for one of the pulp industries located in the Rio de Janeiro area. I will be in Brazil from 6 months to possibly a year to complete the project. I would like to explore the culture and see as much of Brazil as I can while there. Any recommendations concerning where to visit, eat, or stay would be appreciated. Reply Bob

for recommendations concerning where to visit and eat take a look in VT's Rio de Janeiro pages; foreign people and locals have a lot of good pages; for where to stay it' better to know first where you're going to work every day and how; as a general idea it's better to stay in South Zone ( Zona Sul ) and near a metro station

My suggestions depend a lot on what it is that you enjoy doing.
Certainly, you should probably see Foz do Iguacu during your time in Brazil as that is one of the great natural wonders of the world. Santa Catarina is a state in southern Brazil that is known to have great scenery in a number of places. Closer to Rio, you might want to take a look at Parati, as that city has a reputation as being an interesting site. I have never visited it, however. Without more information on what you enjoy doing, it is hard to make suggestions.
