Hi all,

I would love to go (again) to Antwerp, and then have dinner in the restaurant de Barbarie. But all the details (phone, fax & email) given on the various internet (restaurant) sites (even their own website) don't work : the phone- and faxnumber do not exist, the email comes back......does anybody (someone who lives in Antwerp?) know whether this restaurant does still exist ?
I would love to go there, as we have been there before......

I presume the most recent entry on here, dated 19 January, relates to this year, which would imply that the restaurant is still open; but it does say that the opening hours vary according to the whim of the owners: http://de-barbarie.restaurants.klup.be/
If you have tried phoning/faxing, are you sure you are using the code 32-3 and not 03? I looked at various restaurant guides like Delta, gastromania, platdujour.be, resto.be, and the link to an own website (http://www.barbarie.be/) on the last two doesn't work, which could be a bad sign; but then you seem to have been able to get into it, so perhaps not. You could try emailing barbarie@resto.be.

yes I have seen the name still on all the restaurant sites. But the email bounces back, and I actually do dial the correct number...but I have now heard the restaurant indeed is closed. Thanx anyway !

The posting you are referring to, in which someone states that the opening hours vary according to the whim of the owners, is not about De Barbarie, but about a restaurant called Flevo Marina. On the website http://de-barbarie.restaurants.klup.be there are no entries yet for De Barbarie.
