| Manila | Airport Information Posted: Mon January 28, 2008 01:01 PM UTC
Hi All,
My family and I will be flying Philippine Airlines from San Francisco to Manila. This is the first time that I have flown Philippine Airlines internationally. I usually take Northwest, but couldn't get a good deal when I bought the tickets. My question is Will we be arriving at Terminal 2??? Is there an immigration and customs area there as well as the other Terminal where most of the International flights arrive and depart? My sister-in-law will be meeting us at the airport. If we are coming into Terminal 2, would it be easier to find her at the arrivals there as opposed to the international arrivals area? Thanks. |

Yes you will be arriving at NAIA Terminal 2 (all PAL flights do).
Of course there is immigration & customs :) but shorter queues :) Your sis-in-law will find it easier to catch you in this terminal than at the old NAIA 1 since there are less people than at terminal 1 :)

hi. there is an immigration and customs area. YOu can never be able to leave the airport from an international flight without going through them. Terminal 2 is a lot better and is for the sole use of Philippine Airlines. It is easier to locate passengers there. so don't fret. your sister will easily find you. By the way, terminal 2 has its own international arrivals. Like I said it is used by PAL only. Security is as tight as that of the NAIA terminal 1.

I have flown into the Centennial terminal (terminal 2) many times but never been met as I never left the airport because I would swap over to the domestic side of the terminal for a flight to Cebu.
However, I can give a comparison between terminal 1 and terminal 2. After customs at terminal one, you have to go through 2 sets of glass doors, cross a road and go down a ramp to be met. At terminal 2, as soon as you pass customs, you are outside and being pestered by taxi drivers. I hope this helps! Regards: Jim
