Is there any affordable accomodation in New Haven, except for the Yale campus? How much are the rents, more or less?

There are a number of hotels in New Haven. The Omni and the New Haven hotel are downtown within walking distance of Yale. In nearby towns West Haven, Milford, North haven there are others. What are your plans when you are visiting?
