Hi Guys,

Ive checked with ferry companies and schedules aren't out as yet. But im going to be in Samos until the 24th of July 2008. I wanted to know how frequent ferries will be to Mykonos. People have suggested i wait but then i cant exactly go ahead and book my accomodation in mykonos. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I can tell you my own experience there. We arrived to Samos from Kusadasi (Turkey) and had to wait for the first ferry going out to Mykonos or Ios. It happened to be Ios the first one and that was our first destination. The ferry to Mykonos was the following day. Some friends stayed one night in Samos to take that ferry. Anyway, ferries are not very accurate in their schedules. Many are delayed or canceled because of sea conditions or strong winds. It's very usual to wait for hours your expected ferry and that can be very dangerous if you have to make "connections" with other ferry to reaxh any island.
My advice is not to book anything. Just get there and then find accomodation. It's really easy. Many operators are waiting the ferries at the port offering accomodation and transportation for very reasonable prices, much cheaper than booking in advance (unless you want some place in particular).
Enjoy,

Rafa
