| New Orleans | New Orleans in the winter Posted: Thu January 24, 2008 12:09 AM UTC
We are planning a trip to new orleans December 11, 2008 to December 16, 2008. it is my husband's 50th birthday. We have been to the French Quarter many times just not in the winter. How is Bourbon Street in the winter? And does anyone know if the carriage rides are open? Also, how to dress? Any help would be appeciated. Thanks

Bourbon Street is about the same as in the summer, just fewer people. New Orleans is usually not cold in early December. You might check out www.weatherunderground.com for New Orleans. They have current and forecasted weather, but also a temperature and rain history for any given time period (say Dec 11 - Dec 16 for quite a few years. This should guive you an idea. One thing though, due to the humidity, the cold here feels a lot colder than the temperature might suggest.
