WE ARE WANTING TO SEE THE HIGHEST PEAK OF THE ANDES. DO YOU KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY FLIGHTS TOURS OR BUS TOURS TO GET THERE, OR ANY OTHER MEANS OF GETTING THERE? THANK YOU, JAN

from santiago if you go on the pass to mendoza, there is a point near el portillo ski area from which you can see aconcangua, the highest peak in the andes. i'm not exactly sure where this point is but i can't imagine it would be more than an hour's hike.

you can see Aconcagua from the road which goes from Santiago to Mendoza ( about 6 hours in bus ); from Mendoza to Aconcagua park is about 2 hours in bus and you can hike a little more in the park; we went from Mendoza by regular bus in the morning and went back at the end of the day, but there is a hotel near Puente del inca you can stay or in Penitentes ski center.Perhaps you could find some kind of tour from Santiago to these places.
