Ponce Travel Forum

I have visited San Juan and would like to visit Ponce, I will be alone and would like to know the safest places to visit. In addition I am considering re-locating to Puerto Rico I am from Chicago, IL born and raised. I'll be 40 this year no husband/children (my preference) so I can go move at any time!

I am wondering where you stayed when you were in San Juan and did you spend any time in OLD San Juan? I'm asking because I think I met (in one day) about 10 men and women from Chicago and New York that moved there in a similar situation as you, and have been there for 10+ years... and I met another 10 or so the next day! I think you would really enjoy it. Not all of them lived in the heart of Old San Juan but there is a lot of culture, variety, and people from the states that reside there. As for Ponce, my bf and I were supposed to spend our last weekend in PR in Ponce and we were told by many people to reconsider. Mostly because they didn't recommend us going without a car, it's too far from the airport (3 1/2 hrs), and there is limited activity and entertainment. I hear it is beautiful and enjoyable as well, however next time we will plan things in a different order. Good luck to you!
