San Diego Travel Forum

I plan on staying 3 nights in San Diego during the latter part of March, and two of the destinations I plan on visiting are the Zoo and the Animal Park. Can someone help me determine the best way of traveling from the Zoo to the Park? Is there a certain bus I can take, or is taking the taxi the best available method?

haha I'm not a terrorist... I'm a college student looking to get out of rainy Washington for Spring Break!

Actually, a taxi would be simpler if you can't rent a car to drive yourself and if you can afford it. However, the cost of a round trip journey would probably cost more than renting a car for the day.

The San Diego Zoo is about 35 miles from the Wild Animal Park. You could use the public transportation system,

but it would take some time for this trip, over four hours because of connection delays. In a car it would normally take between a half hour and forty-five minutes to get from one place to the other.

They way you have written this question, it seems that you are thinking of going to both places on the same day. If that was your plan, I'd mention that you would be happier giving each place at least a full day to get the most for money spent.

Ouch, four hours on a bus does not sound fun. I'm not of age to be able to rent a car, so I'll have to settle for the taxi.

a taxi to the wild animal park will cost you a fortune. there and back, depending where you are leaving from, you are looking at 1-2 hours in a taxi. here's one tour i found - http://www.sandiegotours.us/tours/tourDetail.cfm?tour_id=140 do a search for others. personally, i find that about 3 hours is enough for the wild animal park (not including travel time). for the zoo, it's definitly a full day adventure.

im just kidding like i said... you'll love san diego!!! it is like between 15min. to 30min. away from each place, i would say if iwas you i'll rent a car, you can get a rental car for like 25 to 30dollars a day@least you'll enjoy the scenery or view arround here in san diego.

no, i won't recomend taxi!!! cheaper to rent a car! 9yrs. ago i have to take a taxi cab which is just @least 5min. away from my house and it coast me 10dollars. that was 9yrs.ago. try budget rental, you only need a small vehicle would be cheaper. or look arround.
