| Puerto Galera | Reservations or walk up? Posted: Mon January 21, 2008 05:59 PM UTC
Hello all,
For the people who had stayed in P.G. for a few times, is it smarter to just walk up to resorts when u get there or reserve them in advance. Reason I ask is that I called 3 well-known resorts and they need at least 75% cash down to reserve the room--- u can't use credit card. Usually hotels accept credit card to protect consumers, just in case u need to cancel. So again, I feel that it's dangerous to put that kind of money and loose it if the weather goes bad or for some other reasons. On the month of march (early), how is the availability around the area? You think there will be enough resorts available to just walk up to? thank you. |

hi..i've been to puerto a few times, and i suggest that you make a reservation before going there. there are quite a few good places to stay there, here are some of them:
mendellukes suite - if you wanna go for quality accommodation at a fairly reasonable price, you can stay here. its at the beachfront, you can enjoy the sea at anytime of the day. i dunno if this number still works -09165002670. manalo's - this is more known as a resto in the middle of the white beach, but they offer rooms too. ask for their current rates at 09176096072 apartelle de francesca - if you want quiet nights away from the PG party scene, try this one. we stayed here when we came to PG last april 2004, they have very good facilities and a cute foot-shaped pool. search for their website on the net, i lost their card a long time ago. from my experience, these places do not require a reservation deposit. i hope that helps. have a safe & happy trip!

Thanks for responding Chiggz.
I just emailed Lan-sei for some price quote and we'll see how it goes. As far at accomodations go...I've checked out some pics of both Lan-sei and Mendelluke..I'd say Lan-sei would be a better fit( as far as those pictures). I'm going with my family with kids..so I just want to make sure it's a place where kids could enjoy playing and sleeping. Anyway thanks for the info...and if you have anymore to add, please let me know. I determined to get 'the' hotel before we get there!

lan sei's okay too, though it's quite far from the beach, and you'd have to pass by houses as well. you may want to check out gray wall resort too, it's nearer to the beach and it has a pool as well.
here's their manila office nos: 09228148497. enjoy your trip!

Thnks for responding again Chiggz. I have already made reservations on Tamarraw Beach resort, they were kind enough to hold it until I get to the Philippines-without putting any money down. I feel like I have done enuf research that Tamarraw would be a good enough location for us --location, price and from the looks at those pictures. Not to mention, kind customer service. I hope all goes well and I'll definitely contribute back to this forum after our vacation. Until then, thnks and God bless ur' family.
