Puerto Princesa City getting around puerto princesa

Hi! I was just wondering how long travel time is using tricycles to do the DIY tours...

For example, how long is the tricycle ride from the hotel (Asturias) to the wharf for the island hopping?

And for the city tours too, are the places far from each other that the travel time is long if you ride the tricycle?

Thank you!

I rented a tricycle for my city tour. We started around 1PM and ended around 4:30PM on a relaxed pace. Also, what held us was the schedule of the crocodile farm tour. I had to wait for 30mins (or so) coz entrance is per batch and I failed to catch the previous group. Likewise, the farthest point is Iwahig Penal Colony which is about 1hr from PP.

thanks for the reply! So yeah, city tour is doable with just the tricycle...

Now i'm wondering if somebody knows how far it is to go to the wharf/pier to start the island hopping via a tricycle.. cuz i've been reading that DIY is cheaper.. anybody know the latest rate for a boat?

Replies are appreciated! =)

If you are going to the wharf for the honda bay island hopping, you will need to rent the tricycle for the day. It will bring you there and wait for you. Rate per day is around P400. It will take about 45 mins. Boat rental depends on the capacity of the boat. I think the smallest boat is good for 6 and it's about P1,000 plus P30 terminal fee per person. If the GASAM boat is available, request them because the boatmen are quite helpful especially during the snorkeling. Check out my Puerto Princesa page for more tips.

I stronlgy suggest that you get help from Topstar Travel Agency. tricycle drivers will surely overcharge you. 09285034425 that's their number.

Not always... I paid P500 for a whole day rent. The driver took me around PP proper in the morning and city tour in the afternoon. The standard rate being charged by travel agencies for the city tour alone is P800/pax for half day.

I agree, not all will overcharge you. There are some really nice ones like Sonny. We rented his tryk for only P350. We just gave him a big tip because he was very helpful.

you guys are so helpful!
i hope i find a good tricycle that won't overcharge us...

is it difficult to get tricycles.. say we just need a ride to a restaurant.. then when we're done, we can easily find another one to take us back?? or is always better to have them wait (but more expensive huh..)

Thanks again!

You can contact the driver I hired (cell no. on my PP transpo page). The trikes in PP are color coded depending on their route. In my experience, I had to ask the driver to wait for me while I had my dinner at Badjao coz it's not easy to get one from there back to the hotel; paid P100.

thanks to Analiz99, I got Sonny's services too. City tour and Honda bay tour. I guess you can really trust the tricycle drivers being recommended here in VT.
