I was curious. I wanted to take a permanent reminder of my upcoming trip to Brazil home with me, a tattoo. Now I have a question. I'll be based in Botafogo neighborhood during my stay. Is there any nearby tattoo parlors and the important thing.......ARE RIO TATTOO PARLORS STERILE AND CLEAN?! I don't want to come back with hepatits or something just a tattoo. Are they safe and where could I go? Thanks!

I have the perfect place for you to go! I've had 7 tattoos done at this place and I can guarantee you that he is very professional(probably one the best in Brazil!!)His studio is in Ipanema, which is not very far from Botafogo, by bus should take you no more than 25min to half an hour. This link gives you direct access to his web site, unfortunately is all in portuguese. To find the address click(STUDIOS)on the top right hand side of the site and click on Ipanema, don't bother with Copacabana as I know that it is closed. http://www.heliotattoo.com.br/tattoos_helio99.htm

Sorry, I forgot to mention about the price. It's very difficult to say as the bigger and more complicated the tatto is the more it costs but some thing of about 4 inchs might cost you about in (Pounds)Ģ80.00 but dont't hold me to it as I'm really not sure and don't forget, his very good!!!!

Of course there are tattoo parlors sterile and clean in Rio! Check out for Banzai Tattoo (http://www.banzaitattoo.com.br/). Itīs easy to get there using the Subway. Good Luck!
