This might be a daft question, then again I've been called worse.
Can anyone tell me the best method of getting from the airport to Miraflores and the approximate cost.
I've heard stories about inflated taxi fares. Then again I've experienced these in India, Vietnam, Thailand and London.
Your help and advice is most welcome and appreciated.

get a taxi organized from inside the airport if you want to make sure of a fixed cost and to avoid the frenetic mob of yelling taxi drivers that are persistently prevalent as soon as you step out of the airport doors. there is a shared shuttle service inside the airport that ends up costing a bit less if you are on your own. taxis and shuttles from within the airport have a fixed cost based on the area to which you are traveling. either way it shouldn't cost more than $15.

You could ask the hotel to meet you at the airport.

Hey.. first of all, if u can speak spanish, probably u should go out airport and ask for a cheap transportation (max 25 soles, or $8)
If u can't, just try to explain them that u don't have enough money.. good luck!
Sometimes the service is more than $20

I did it last year ( October). They charged me 15 USD, for the route airport - Miraflores.

Please use the cabs who works inside the airport, no the ones who are dropping off people there, they are cheaper I know, but sometimes it can not be so safe.

just got back from peru. we stayed in miraflores and paid 15 us for a driver from the hotel to pick us up. another time it was only 13 us.
