Hi! It's me..Ayuri again :-)
Tsukuba is located to the north-east of Tokyo and it takes 2 or 3 hours by bus from Tokyo.(maybe....I'm not so sure...) Well, unfortunately Tsukuba doesn't seem to be a place for travellers. It's a city of university and offices and research companies. And there are many apartment houses for those who works in the companies & university. Ayurin :-)

I live in Tsukuba. It takes exactly 60 minutes by highway bus from Tokyo Station and exactly 1250 yen.
If you are involved in science and technology is a nice to place to visit. Main national laboratories are located here and Tsukuba University has a huge campus (physical education and sports being one of its strong holds). If you're interested in hiking Tsukuba-san could be an interesting challenge. And it will be beautiful with the autum colors.
