Langkawi vs Penang vs Kuala Lumpur
Food - 1st Penang, 2nd Kuala Lumpur, 3rd Langkawi (not much)
Beach - Langkawi ,Penang, Kuala Lumpur (steel jungle)
Swimming - Langkawi, Penang, KL (in your hotel)
Shopping -Kuala Lumpur,Langkawi (tax free),Penang
Original PIRATED stuff - Kuala Lumpur, Penang (DVDs/CDs Best in Malaysia and some said whole S.E. Asia)
Traffic Jam -Kuala Lumpur,Penang, Langkawi (jam free)
.......................
Besides beach and sea, Langkawi also have a few (very) pretty waterfall that must NOT miss. 1-2 days in Langkawi should be enough and 2D1N you can visit whole Langkawi(you can rent car/motorbike there) unless you want to visit their mangroves and nearby island (feed eagle etc).
To fully visit every corner of Penang, it would take you at least 3-4 days in Penang
Kuala Lumpur, all i can think of is shopping shopping and shopping :P

Hi rundmc2352,

That all about Langkawi..Actually I'm working with the Travel Agency in Langkawi.. I think if you want to stay in Langkawi about 4 nights at Sheraton, Langkawi(nice hotel).. Sheraton also got their own private beach.. Normally, for the guest we will advise 1st day arrive in Langkawi, just take a rest.. Tomorrow, we will start with a Mangrove Tour about 31/2 hours, their were bring you to the Fish Farm, Bat Cave, Crocodile cave, Lagendary cave, Eagle Feeding, Mangrove swamp & Dangli Island (with a clear water & also you can see a colorful fish).. There also you can request for island drop for both of you, you can swimming and maybe having a lunch there..

Island Hoping activities : Duration 3 hours..There were bring you to the 3 island (lake of the pregnant maiden) you can swim there with a fresh water from the lake.. Singa Island, there got a eagle feeding & Wet Rice Island, over there got a white sand beach.. You can swin and there also got a sport activites like a banana boat, parasailing & jet ski but it's depend to weather..

Snorkeling & Scuba Diving At Payar Island - Duration 8 hours.. 1 day booking in advance.. Really nice coral in the clear water.. including lunch in platform..

INterest place in Langkawi : Underwater World, Cable Car, Crocodile Farm, Bird Paradise & Wildlife Park, Snake Santuary, Fruit Farm.. Waterfall : Seven Well, Durian Perangin & Temurun..Black Sand Beach, Hot Spring, Cenang Beach..A lot of another place..

Here also go a nightlife..shopping at cenang beach..night market..

Hi, i traveled to malaysia last sept for 3 weeks we stayed in KL for 2nites i'm not really into big cities but i must say i really enjoyed KL we then went to penang for 2weeks stayed at the golden sands its a nice hotel but i would recommend up grading to a sea view room .we where in a hillside room at first as these rooms have no balcony and the praying at night and early in morming can be a bit of a problem if you wish to have a sleep in . you cannot swim in the sea at any of the hotels along the beach due to the jelly fish, we also stayed in langkawi as well at the berjaya resort abit far out and the hotel is run down beach ok and you can swim their you really only need acouple of days on this island not a real lot to do , i dont think i would return to any of these places as their is alot nicer places you can travel to , some people love penang&langkawi its all personal choice ,for a honey moon i would look at thailand phi phi island etc the beaches are so beautiful lots to see and do snorkling at phi phi island is the best so many beautiful fish and hotels 100% better than malaysia, but i'm a big fan of bali and would say that bali has the best value for money regarding hotels ! so as i said its all personal choice hope this helps a little ... fiona
