How long would it take to get to Postiano from Naples? (We are thining of hiring a car) . Also, would 3 nights be enough to spend here?

Use www.viamichelin.com for trip planning; it will give you suggested routes, times, distances, estimated petrol costs, tolls, etc.
Are you actually going to be IN Naples, or just picking the car up at the airport? Even I might think twice about driving in Naples (I used to live in Rome), and the current trash strike has surely gotten a lot of streets in a big mess. I haven't been to Positano, but even if you ran out of things to do there, I can't imagine you would have a hard time finding stuff to do nearby, whether driving over to Sorrento or Ravello, or taking a ferry to Capri or just around the Bay. Take a look at the mapping software at viamichelin.com and you'll see what I mean... Bill

Depending on when you are going and traffic, should be a maximum of 90 minutes unless you are leaving from central Naples.

We hired a Private Driver for the journey from Naples Station to Positano and it took around 80 Minutes at quite a leisurely pace.3 nights would be perfect in Positano giving you enough time to see the surrounding area or just chill by the beach or pool.The Private Driver we used was Salvatore Lucibello from DriveAmalfi,email,info@driveamalfi.com and the cost was €110 Euros
