Cape Town Broadening my scope
Posted: Thu January 17, 2008 01:13 PM UTC
OK, so now I am considering either Camps Bay or Bantry Bay as the Waterfront area is proving hard to find accomodation. Considering that we are a couple of middle age guys looking for a golf game during the day and dinner and drinks in the evening, is there much to do in either of these areas. How far are they from the Waterfront district?

They look beautiful however I have learned to be scheptical of the marketing descriptions.

Thanks all.

Hi The coast goes like this from Camps bay.... clifton.....bantry bay...Sea point...........,mouille point........,waterfront.........,CBD - to drive from camps bay to the waterfront along the beachroad- it will take 10 minutes - (minus traffic lights)

Sea point/mouille point/waterfront and adjacent Green Point is full of bars and reastaurants- If you have a car then nothing on the ATLANTIC SEABOARD is really far 10 mins max...even from Sea point to CDB is 5 minutes.

YOu may have to mission a bit to get to a golf course in the day (unless you use Metropolitan).
but if you get accommodation anywhere from the City- camps bay- you should be fine and not have to travel too big distances (anything more than 15 min -is a distance- to me)

Mandy, Metropolitan golf course is/was a tiny one, but I think it is closed now because of the new football stadium?

You won't have to drive more than an hour from Camps Bay to find the very best golf courses.
