Hi - we will be off to Luxor soon - how is the weather? how hot does it get during the day? Cool at night? Thanks

I just back from Aswan 2 days ago , the weather was pretty good , sunny around ( 20 : 25 degrees ) during the day , and a little cold at night , but somedays it getting very cold at night . u can wear a sweatshirt with a long sleeves during the day , even u can wear a T-Shirt , but a jacket for the night would be useful.

Did you fly from Aswan? How far is the airport from city center? How much is a cab fare? Do you know a place to store luggage - we will have more than a few hours to kill before our flight to Cairo after our cruise ends.

No , i didn't fly from Aswan , i took the train to cairo , the Airport is around 20 to 30 minutes from aswan downtown , Cab fare is expensive in Aswan
( Compared to Cairo ) i'm not sure but expect to pay more than 50 LE .
I'm sorry but i don't know a place to store your luggage , but i guess u can leave your luggage in the cruise ship if it will stay in Aswan for a while .

As far as I am concerned this is the best time to visit Luxor and Aswan! It might be a bit cold at night but nothing that a vest or a sweater can't solve.

I have been there late august, early september and it was to freaking hot! Even as early as 8am it was like an oven in the Valley of Kings. We did the cruise from Aswan to Abu Simbel and, following that, from Aswan to Luxor: it was to hot to be outside on the sundeck at midday. We stayed inside and have siesta from 11am to 3pm.

We will be there in about a month and I am so much looking forward to it!!!!!

That's very encouraging about the weather. We will be in Luxor last week of Feb for a week's cruise. Glad it is not going to be too hot!

Would you say that there will be a problem with flies and mosquitoes then?

I have been to Egypt 5 times (6th time will be in a fortnight. YES! YES!). I hardly saw a fly over there! No mosquito's and such. What I did saw regularly were small cars spreading insecticides. Specially on places with water pools.
