I am flying in from Liverpool and need to get to Aix en Provence. Is there a train, coach or bus from Nimes airport, or Nimes itself, to Aix en Provence? I tried looking on the rail web sites but got nowhere (excuse the pun)
Perhaps someone can advise which site to book or whether booking is necessary.

You travel via Marseilles. Times varied from 1 hr 12 min to the Aix TGV station on up to 3+ hours at different times. You should be able to book on the web site above (which is in English). You can probably get your ticket there rather than book ahead.

There is undoubtedly bus service too. Google the airport and they will give you transportation options and web links.

Most French bus services are fairly local, and people use the train for longer distances.

TGV Nimes to Aix (TGV station) is about 1hr 15mins
Ordinary train Nimes to Aix (central station) is about 3hrs (via Marseille)

I don't know of a direct bus service, but http://www.stdgard.com goes Nimes-Avignon ....... and http://www.infociao.com/gares_routieres.php?commune=aix_en_provence goes Avignon-Aix.
