Kota Kinabalu Kota Kinabalu airport to City centre transport

From Kota Kinabalu airport to city centre, are there any airport bus shuttles or do i have to depend only on taxis?
Incase there are airport bus shuttles, any idea which one goes nearer to Shangri-La hotel( not the resort one but the one located in the city centre)? What will be the approximate taxi and bus fares?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

hi there!
may i know wht airlines that are you using? cause if u're taking AirAsia, then u'll be arrving in Terminal 2 KK Intl Airport. In terminal 2 there are buses, but it is commercial bus which will bring you to some parts of KK before ending its destination to cit center, the bus stand in city is near to ur hotel, around 15 mins walk from the bus stand. In Terminal 2 there are also lots to taxis, ranges from rm 18- rm 25 to city center, with only around 20-25 mins drive.

If you're using Malaysia Airlines or other airlines, then you'll be arriving in Terminal 1 KK Intl Airport, here in this terminal there are hardly as shuttle bus and there are commercial buses that just pass by along the main road. it its better to catch a taxi from Terminal 1 to city center to avoid wasting of time. here taxi costs around rm 20 - rm 30, its a 25-30 mins drive to city center

Thank you for your replies.

I will arrive in KK by AirAsia flight.

So your suggestion is to take a taxi from Terminal-2 to Shangri-La?

Do you have an idea if Shangri-La has a free pick up service from KK airport(sorry to ask you since this is to be asked to that hotel)?

Yeah, just take the taxi-my friend took a taxi from the main terminal to KK 2 weeks ago for RM15-get a coupon. Your hotel is very well located if you want to take a bus though. Terminal 2 has hourly shuttles but I don't know about teh price.
