Tehran trying to email ATLAS HOTEL
Posted: Tue January 15, 2008 08:53 AM UTC
I have been trying to email the Atlas hotel in Tehran at the address mentioned on the hotel's website, info@atlas-hotel.com Alas, sending to this address does not succeed, my internet provider informing me that my email could not be sent to this address. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong here? I know that some hotels there will not reply to emails, but my problem is getting it to them in the first place.

Iran has a big problem with telecoms - phone, fax, e-mails, websites are all difficult to get through to. I took three hours to get a fax through the other day. Just keep trying is the usual answer.

Hi simone,

I thought you and your father have already been to iran and back! am i wrong? although i must say you totally ignored and failed to respond to my VT mail few months ago, I called Atlas Hotel for you again and was told by the receptionist that they hardly check their emails!yes they ususally dont do that.lol. at the beginning she did not even know what it was. Meanwhile, she asked me to tell you to call first and NOT email them if you wish to make a reservation!!! having said that, please note that their email has changed and it is now:atlas@mavara.com.take care.bye.amir

Hello Simone :)

U are probably not doing anything wrong.
The websites and email addresses of hotels in Iran are often down.
I would phone them instead.

Simone,

I am going to suggest yiu do the unspeakable. Do not email them. Telephone them. Yes, speak to a person. They don't do credit cards in Iran, so they will make a reservation just by taking your name. Also, they have a lot of censorship on the net and some internet providers are often blocked by the authorities. I am on AOL (America on Line) and I ended up having to email through another provider.

Thie phone number is listed on several people's tip and someone on reception will speak English.

All the best,

DAO

Hi Simone: I gave you the correct email address (see above, my earlier reply) but they would probably would not reply. if you plan to call them, the best time to do so is 10am-2pm Tehran local time.

Mel: it is you again.Oh boy. NO! since you asked and still perhaps wondering, I must tell you I have NEVER been able to "convince any foreign woman on the travel forums to go on a date with me" because...... I have NEVER -- yes never -- tried to do so. it is mostly in your head since you think that if someone (he) is nice and just offering to have a cup of tea or coffee with someone (she), no matter what the occasion, it must be a date and he is trying to pick her up!LOL. Anyway, I am glad you are gone and safely back home! Happy New year! Amir.
