Hello. I would like to do a one day trip from Paris to Luxembourg. How long would the train take? And is it worth the effort? What do you suggest? Thanks.

It's jsut over two hours by train from Paris to luxemburg. So it is doable. Whether it's worth the effort is another thing.

It is hard for someone else to decide whether it is worth 4 hours on trains to visit a place without knowing what sort of places you like! Personally, I hate the place though it could be tolerable on a sunny day if you particularly want to visit the fortifications (casemates). You need to look up VT members' travel pages on Luxembourg (put luxembourg into the destinations search box at the top of this page...) to decide what you might want to see and whether, for you, it is worth a day less in Paris to visit it. I have to say I could think of a good dozen places that would be more worthwhile but that's according to my tastes, not yours.
