Hi, I'm travelling to mendoza for 2 days and have been trying to find a cheap double room in a fairly good location. Can anyone help me out with recommendations, the cheaper the better.... $20-$30???

I've looked on the internet but things don't seem to be as cheap as I imagined, (e.g. bed in a dorm in a hostel, $37). Would it be better just to arrive and have a walk around to try and find a small hotel that can't advertise on the internet??

Any help would be great.

You should go to the Tourist Office when you arrive, they have lists of places to stay with up-to-date information. But I think you will not get a double room for less than 50 pesos. It is summer time.

You can try this link which under the heading "where to sleep" they have listed hotels down to 1 star, apartment hotels, B&B;s and hostels so you should be able to locate something within your price range.

If you are willing to up the price to $45 usd a night inc breakfast i would suggest you book the Hotel Argentino. On the main plaza and wonderful. Check my Mendoza travel pages for contact information.
