Hi - I am not sure why you would think a taxi is your only option. You can take a bus, train, or plane. Indian Airlines and Air Sahara both fly nonstop to Mumbai - usually for less than $100 - defnitely less than a taxi! Is there some other reason you want to take a taxi?

This is quite a distance to be done by road.
You should look at other options as you have direct flights and trains between the two cities. The Taxi travel would be expensive as you could be charged for both side fare.

I've looked into flights, but it gets me into the domestic airport just 3 hours before my other flight takes over and don't want to take the risk of missing my other flight. Where can I find out about trains and buses?

Hi Roz - For trains you can check http://www.indianrail.gov.in/. Be aware that this journey is around 20 hours and the trains are not always on time so it may be difficult to time a flight around the train. The bus will be an even longer journey and I don't think it's a straight shot from Lucknow to Mumbai. I definitely wouldn't recommend taking a bus.
Have you checked all the flights - both non-stop and ones going through Delhi or with a layover. There's usually flights departing and arriving all times of the day and night and you can usually find something to fit your needs. If none of that works out, can you fly in and day earlier and spend the night in Mumbai? Maybe that could work? Please note that if you take the train to Mumbai, you must allow sufficient time to get to the airport. It's quite a distance and traffic is horrendous!

Hi
I fail to understand why come to bombay just to catch a flight to london you can just go to delhi and fly direct to london. Your Travel agent should have guided you. Well now there is only chance to come in one day early to your departute and see mumbai as well. IN case you wana come to mumbai it is sure a hapening city and the airport is getting better as well.
