| Rio de Janeiro | Night view of lights/shoreline? Posted: Sat January 12, 2008 02:37 PM UTC
Is the shore line something to see from the water all lite up at night or a view of the city above looking down? Been looking for night tours or city light tours and so far they all include dinner or dancing. Does anybody have a suggestion for just seeing the city all lit up?

sugarloaf at sunset is probably the best possible view of the city all lit up.

There are several places where you can sit, looking at the sunset at see or the lit-up beach.
The northside of Copacabana (the peninsula of Leme) has some little bars, the peninsula between Copacabana and Ipanema (Apoador, rocky, many wild cats but no bar AFAIR), and the other far end of the Leblon beach (just a little bit up Av. Niemeier, it is known as mirante) with two little bars and a wooden platform. The only remaining pub that I know of with an upstairs balcony looking out over the (in this case Copacabana) beach is sobra as ondas (sp ?) next to Help.
