| Seoul | Good Eats in Seoul Posted: Sat January 12, 2008 01:01 AM UTC
My fren and I will be in Seoul in mid april. We'd like to try out some of the great korean food we've been hearing so much about. We don't speak korean. Could someone recomend some restaurants taht we could try out? like those bbq meat places, bibimbap, ginseng soup stuff?
Thanks. |

There are thousands of those restaurants in Seoul, quite impossible to recommend one, especially since Korea doesn't have a street system. Hence, even if we gave you an address, you wouldn't be able to find it.
Try to go to Insa-dong, the famous shopping, art, eating and tea-house district in northern Seoul. Head for one of the narrow side streets and try any of the restaurants that appeal to you. Almost all of the places have English menus and the atmosphere is one of the best in whole Korea. Cheers, Robert

Where are you from and where in Seoul will you staying? Seoul is HUGE and there is food all over the place. I can't recommend a particular restaurant as there are toooooooooooo many to choose from. Here is a great website for you to start choosing:
http://www.seoulstyle.com/restaurant-reviews-seoul.htm If you are on a budget, I would try some places over in Shinchon or Hongdae as students don't have much money and there are some really good, but cheap places over there. One of my favorites (I don't know the name) is a place near the pedestrian overpass between Yonsei University and Ewha University. There is also a good place in front of the cathedral in Shinchon, just as you pass under the railroad tracks from the main gate of Yonsei University.

We're from malaysia and i believe the hotel is in the Dongdaenum area. We're still firming up the bookings and stuff.
