Has anyone visited the underground caverns(caves) in Orvieto lately? I will be visiting Orvieto in the spring of this year, I only have one day there, so I am attempting to use my valuable time wisely. I would like to visit the caves, and view the chapel in the cathedral, in the morning.Does anyone know how long the guided tour of the caverns take, and the cost? Thank you for your assistance. I visited the caves in Orvieto in december 2006 and I really enjoyed the guided tour, I don't remember how much it costed but for sure not much if I could afford it ;)
It took about 1 hour if I can remember. It's very interesting inside I think you should go!

Here's the website, in particular the hours and fees - http://www.orvietounderground.it/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=45. It's in Italian only. It will cost you 5.50 euro each (less for students or elderly). Hours state "tutti i giorni alle ore 11,00; 12,15; 16,00; 17,15 (nei periodi di maggiore affluenza turistica, ogni 15 minuti)". Translates - Everyday at 11,00; 12,15; 16,00; 17,15 (high tourist season very 15 minutes).
