Tembilahan Travel Forum

From what I've gathered, there is a ferry that departs Batam to Tembilahan daily at 8am. Is this correct? Are there any other services from Batam to Tembilahan? If so what time do these depart? Are these departures from Sekupang as well?

Yes there is a daily ferry to Tembilahan from Sekupang. It costs 280,000 and leaves around 0830, but get there early or you will wind up with a terribly uncomfortable seat (sit towards the front or you'll just see sea spray). It's a small boat with 5 (yes, five) outboard engines hung off the back so it really flies. Clocked it on the GPS at over 62kph. Keep that in mind if you're considering riding up on top - esp if it rains..

It calls in a few local towns on the way: moro, durai, guntung, sembuang (which is 2kms from the equator) and k.guang. It is a very scenic and enjoyable trip. Most of the journey is in inland mangrove waterways, and the boat courteously slows down whenever there is a small boat nearby - which is handy for photo opportunities too.

There is a return service that leaves around the same time in the morning from Tembilihan as well.
