Hello - traveling to Rio for the first time the first week of March of 2008. Wondering what to expect weather wise (Day & Evening) so we know what to pack. Will it be too hot for jeans at night? My husband & I will be staying in Ipanema and will probably hit some more upscale restaurants & lounges at least a few times... was wondering what to wear? Also if I wear True Religion jeans will they be a target for theft? That would be pretty bad having to disrobe in public... Please help!

It will be hot enough so that you should look like you are already mostly disrobed, just as the cariocas dress.

It also rains a lot during the begining of March. Ever heard of the song "Águas de Março"? (waters of march)
Good for dinner in Leblon: Natraj (Indian, beside Melt nightclub) and Antiquarius (Portuguese, http://www.antiquarius.com.br/rio/index.html), being the last considered the best in the city. 99% of Rio dwellers would answer your question with "what´s True Religion jeans?" (myself included). If u are worried be careful with cellphone/watch, which are the favourite targets of thieves.
