I will be coming to Cape Town at the end of February for the first time and am curious on a few things....
What type of clothing to pack? What the best beaches are? What types of items South Africa and Cape Town are "known" for that I can bring back to the States? Thanks in advance!! :-) |

Cape Town is absolutely gorgeous at the end of February! It is the end of summer and still pretty hot, so pack as if you were going to Florida in September. In terms of the best beaches, Camps Bay and Clifton are the best for just hanging out (make sure you have a drink at La Med next to Cliftons) Common items to bring home as gifts are things like wood carving, stone statuettes, decorative tapestries, african jewelry, and things of that nature. I bought a little drum in CT that I love and play often. Just remember that you can usually haggle prices down to a one half or one third of what the vendor usually quotes you. Exa: my drum was R1000 but I got it for R400
