Jiuzhaigou Juizhaigou in March
Posted: Tue January 8, 2008 10:05 PM UTC
Hello

I am travelling through China in February and March, and my friend desperately wants to see Juizhaigou. However, I'm worried about the weather conditions, especially snow and ice. Is it safe to go to Juizhaigou at this time? Would it be better to go at the beginning of the trip in February, or save it closer to the end in mid-March? Also, is the scenery at this time worth the trip??

Thanks for your help!!

It is safe to go to Jiuzhaigou at that time.In my opinion, the scenery is worth the trip.(and ticket fee will be cheaper:)However,Chinese new year will be at the beginning of Feb. so save it closer to the end in mid-March would be better.

hello.
there are every kind of diffierent scenrey about jiu zha gou for the four season. you can see the ice there.i don't think it will have problem going to there on feb or march. if it snows, then you have to wait 1 or 2 days ,after melting ,you can go .please don't worry ,it is safe and interesting.
and of course ,it is worth the trip.
just keep in mind, the weather there, cold and try. must take more clothes and lution .
especailly now ,it is not the hot season.everything will be easy, hotel, food, transportation.
but i think will be more chinese go there on 8th to 15th,feb.it is chinese new year.
wish you have a good trip to jiu zha guo.

Hi! I used to be there in mid of Feb.. It's cold. But u will survive there. No problem. Just bring ur warm jactket with u.

1)Safty problem

If u mean transportation, it depends on ur luck. Most of us are back home safely. By the way, remind ur driver to bring snow chain as it snows for big possibility from Feb.-Mar. there.

If u mean safty inside of Jiuzhaigou, there are drivers and gards with walky talky checking things out there quite often. It's very safe inside of the senic spot.

2) Put it to the end of ur trip.

Chinese New Year will start on 7th Feb..The holiday usually lasts 2 weeks. So save the trip to Jiuzhaigou to the end of ur trip.

3) It is beautiful all year around. Worth to go every moment.

4) If u go there by urself, pls book the hotel in advance as all hotels, shops, restaurants might be closed during low season. When I was there in Feb., most hotels, shops, restaurants were closed. So it's necessary to book a hotel in advance.
