| Ko Samui | Nice beaches and nightlife Posted: Tue January 8, 2008 08:18 PM UTC
Hi,
Can anyone tell me where the best beach is to go to in Ko Samui nearest to the best places to go out at night, We are looking for a lively nightlife, myself and 4 friends are travelling there in Feb and I would like some advise on the best places to go.(Beach and night life) Also if someone has some information on cheap hotels or beach huts. Thanks |

That's easy. Chaweng Beach. Plenty of resorts to choose from along the beach.
For beach huts though, it'd be best to stay up around Maenam or Bophut beaches on the north side of the island. It's only a 10min taxi ride away from Chaweng beach too. The 2 places I've stayed at (and enjoyed) are: Moonhut Bungalows, Maenam Beach (google and you'll find their site) Baan Samui, Chaweng Beach (www.see2sea.com)... I've stayed here twice. or check out www.sawadee.com for other places to stay. Have fun, Pete

I have been there many many times and Chaweng beach is the place you are looking for. great beaches and awesome night life. after you have checked prices online, call the hotel directly as yo will get a better deal - you are goin in off season and almsot all hotels will have plenty rooms available.
have fun

Yes, Chaweng is definitely your choice for both the beach and nightlife. The nightlife street is Soi Green Mango and Soi Solo (these two soi are joined in a horse-shoe shape. ask for Green Mango if you get lost and you will be easily directed there).
If you stay in other areas like Maenam, just take note that 'meter' taxi (actually they do not run using meter - it is fixed prices based on negiotiations) can be costly. If you can manage to get a Songteow, then it will be cheaper. You can check the following sites for hotels: http://www.vikingbar.net/travel.html http://www.kohsamui.org http://www.sawadee.com If there is any other information you need, you may contact me at judy@vikingbar.net
