Posted: Tue January 8, 2008 05:19 PM UTC
The flight to Maui arrives at 10:00pm and We leave next morning at 7:00 am for Oahu.Does anyone have any recommendations were to stay for such a short time.
We really hate to pay top price for a Maui hotel for this short layover.Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Lorraine

I would change my flight to Oahu to a later flight.

I would change both flights. Arrive earlier in Maui to enjoy the evening and later the next day to Oahu to get over the enjoyment you had in Maui the night before.

The problem is the only Delta flight arrives Maui at this late time from the East Coast.I have to be in HNL the next day for a meeting. Then I will return to Maui. Why didn't I fly to Oahu first. That was the rule of Delta Skymiles.

The Maui Seaside Motel has low rates for one night and is very close to the airport in Kahului. That would be the best bet for late arrival and early departure. Stay close by. Either Kahului or Wailuku.

I agree with travelgourmet. We stayed at the Maui Seaside once for one night. It's nothing fancy, but was clean and convenient to the Kahului airport.

Here's another option.
Aloha Airlines has an 11PM flight to Honolulu.
Print out your boarding pass at home.
Pack what you need in a carryon.
You won't even have to exit security.
Claim the rest of you luggage when you return to Maui.
Do you think your flight will be on time?

The Aston Maui Lu in N Kihei has rates as low as $70/night. Might be worth checking out!
