From Chachapoyas you can take a bus or a taxi (taxis are good if you take them between 4 people, they charge the same) and they take you to the town next to Gocta. There are two ways, from the bottom or the top, both offer awesome views, but from the town itself you'll be walking from 2 to 4 hours depending which way you choose. Chachapoyas is one of the most beautiful places in Peru to visit, so congratulations on your choice. Oh! dont forget la laguna del condor (a 5 day walk from Chachapoyas...

hi Renza:
I have been to Gocta and it is an mazing place so here is the tip:
Get from Chachapoyas to Pedro ruiz gallo an small town well developed in comparison from years ago, from here get to San Pablo, it will take you just 40 minutes with a local taxi, from here you walk for 2 hours and cross par of a cloud forest (here you might find one of the most rare monkey species, Lagotrix flavicauda, ment to be extint)The yellow tile wooly monkeys, but here it is still possible to see those monkeys, after 2 hours of hiking you will arive to the first fall,8Isuggest you to get back to Sn Pablo from this point) if you want to complete your visit watching also the second fall, you can get down through a trail down the hill, it takes like a couple of hours, from this point the way back to another town Cocachimba) and exit the zone is quiet far, takes like 4 hours hiking
have fun
