| Grand Canyon | RV Camping near Grand Canyon Posted: Mon January 7, 2008 08:59 PM UTC
Hi,
My family and I will be traveling to GC in July from California. We will be in an RV and would like to stay probably two nights in the GC area. Does anyone have any suggestions of campgrounds available in the area? If time allows( itinerary not complete) we may head towards Zion and Bryce. How about camping locations in each? Would one night at each be sufficient before heading to las Vegas where our fun must end. Thanks in advance. |

Last summer we stayed in an RV at Bryce in Ruby's Inn campground which was good and within walking distance of the park shuttle. At the Grand Canyon we stayed at the North Rim which was a fantastic location but no hook ups just a dump station.

Hello-
The North Rim is MUCH closer to Bryce & Zion. If you are OK without hookups, I recommend North Rim Campsite #11 for a RV. Nice Canyon views. North Rim gets sold out fast for July. So, sooner is ALOT better than later when reserving sites there. At the South Rim Mather Campground is very nice. No views or hookups. Campfires are OK, unless its a high fire danger season. For reservations go to: http://www.recreation.gov/ If you need hookups, on the South Rim is Trailer Village. No campfires allowed. To reserve there go to: http://www.grandcanyonlodges.com/ ENJOY!!
