Rabat Expat Housing/Life with an American Dog in Rabat
Posted: Mon January 7, 2008 04:42 PM UTC
We are considering a job posting that would take us to Rabat and wanted to inquire as to the dog-friendliness of this city. We would need a house with a yard. Do expats generally bring dogs to Morocco? Are there places to walk dogs in Rabat? I have read a lot about stray dogs and am worried.

Thanks!!

Thanks so much for the response! Do you ever see people walking their dogs in the city, or does that mainly happen outside the city? How far is the area you mentioned from the center?

Thanks a lot!

I was recently in downtown Rabat, and was struck by the number of people walking dogs. It seemed to be a very dog friendly place; I probably wasn't there long enough to notice strays, but I did see a lot of stray cats.

I don't have an answer but a question. Do you know what the requirements are to bring a dog into Morocco from the United States?
Thanks.
